Father Omer's "Lucky numbers"
Fr. Bill Rowland, CJM, told us these "numbers" at the vigil for Fr. Omer. They are: 77, 64, 51, 33, 30, 18, 12, 5, 16. No, they aren't his winning numbers at the casino! But–
77 his age when he entered into the life of Glory in Heaven
64 the number of years connected with the Eudists, beginning with high school at Saint Louis College in New Brunswick, Canada.
51 years as a priest in the Congregation of Jesus and Mary, the Eudist Fathers
33 years serving in priestly ministry here in the Diocese of San Diego
30 total years as a high school religion teacher
18 years teaching at Cardinal Dougherty High School in Buffalo, New York
12 years teaching at Marian Catholic High School in Imperial Beach, California
5 combined years in parish ministry at St. Rose of Lima in Chula Vista and St. Charles in Imperial Beach, California
16 years in parish ministry at Our Lady of Grace, which was his last assignment.
