Together for the Mission

Eudists live in community. Like the Apostles, Jesus calls us together so we can join in communion as His mystical body, then sends us out to bring His love to the world. Similar to the circulation of blood through the heart: we are drawn in to be cleansed, and sent out full of life-giving nourishment.

Our mission together fits into three categories:

  • Evangelization
Within the Church, especially. Sharing the beauty of our baptism, when each of us promised to be the Love of God in the world.

  • Formation
Teaching the teachers, ministering to those who minister, especially priests... St. John Eudes did this by teaching in seminaries.

  • Mercy
Providing a voice to the voiceless, reaching out to those most in need of mercy by sharing the joys and sufferings of the poor.

“United in their apostolic mission, Eudists undertake to live community life and want to live it as family, so that their communities may be schools of holiness for all who come to them.” (cf. CJM Constitutions, § 35)
